Are you a veterinary student that feels like you got into vet school on accident? Or are you a veterinarian who is burned out and feels like there’s no hope of enjoying practice anymore? Maybe you’re a pet owner that’s not satisfied with the standards of healthcare?
I get it.
I started working in a veterinary hospital at an early age, and therefore have seen it all. I have seen many joys that come with the profession and the despair that present themselves. My journey to becoming a veterinarian has inspired me to become a voice for the profession to uplift and encourage veterinary students, veterinarians, hospital staff, and pet owners, through music, comedy, and honesty.
Originally from Mississippi, I received my Bachelor of Science in Animal & Dairy Sciences at Mississippi State University. In the late summer of 2016, I packed my bags, keyboard, and guitar, and moved to sunny Southern California to pursue my DVM at Western University of Health Sciences, College of Veterinary Medicine.
During my first semester of vet school, I turned to use social media to keep friends and family updated on my journey. While in my first year of veterinary school, I saw that other vet students, veterinarians, and pet owners started to follow my journey – people were interested! I created a vet student page on Instagram with no original plans of it becoming a large platform. I was shocked when I reached nearly 10,000 followers within my first two years of having my account!
I now have become aware of the wonders that social media can do for our profession. I have connected with people from all over the world and have developed friendships that will last a lifetime.
It has become a passion of mine to help others within our profession while providing educational content on veterinary medicine, mental health, and social media. I am glad that you have chosen to follow my journey and look forward to connecting!

From Vet Tech to Veterinarian: A Second Career Decision
From Vet Tech to Veterinarian: A Second Career Decision I didn’t set out to be a 40-something-year-old vet student. It just sort of turned out that way. Back in 2008, things were cruising along pretty much according to plan. I was married, with [...]
